• Working with Vision Ireland

I was able to secure a placement with national charity Vision Ireland. To partner for the creation of a piece that will hang in the lobby of the headquarters. During this time, I paid a lot of attention to the technical side of the art industry. The budgeting of the piece required many factors such as supply, the large scale 150 x 130 canvas, And hypothetically my cost per hour. I did not charge Vision Ireland for my time as I am happy to work with a charity I really connect with and believe in the continuation of the piece. We also had to work out schedules, as the office hours and general fee time where I can be in seperate room painting are important. Through this project, I think I have a grasp on what it means to be a working artist.

  • Exploring the Art

The National Gallery in Krakow interested me because of the city history. Many painters in this gallery were painting during times of political and economic stress. The gallery had a range, from painting made during Polands golden age ( The Polish and Lithuanian Commonwealth ) 1669-1795. A time on relative harmony from the polish people. To 20th Century art from the Nazi occupation of Poland to its time as a USSR satellite state during the Soviet Union. This Museum takes us floor- to- floor on the entire history of Poland , told through the eyes of the artist.

  • The National Museum Of Krakow

In April, I went to Krakow, Poland to explore the artistic scene in a city with so much history. While I was there, I visited a The Museum Narodowe w Krakowie. Or better translated as The Nationally Gallery of Krakow. https://mnk.pl/en/collection
